Characteristics of Cherry Shrimp

Red Cherry Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) typically grow to 1–2 inches and are graded based on the intensity of their red color. Females are usually larger and more colorful than males. These shrimp thrive in groups and add vibrant activity to nano and community aquariums.

What to Consider Before Buying

We recommend only buying Red Cherry Shrimp from suppliers who hold them for at least 30 days. This helps ensure:

  • Proper molting and mineral absorption
  • Reduced stress from shipping
  • Treatment for any bacterial or parasitic issues

At Flip Aquatics, we quarantine every shrimp for 30 days before they’re made available for sale.

We feed three types of pellets from Shrimp Envy:

  • Complete Envy – our primary food, fed 3x per week
