Crystal Shrimp – Pure Black Line

You will receive Pure Black Line shrimp, also known as PBL. The shrimp you will receive will be sub-adults, having a size of around half of an inch (.5 inches). The dwarf shrimp generally range from S to SS grade in pattern.

The  (PBL) was introduced into the US market in early 2014. What separated PBL from normal crystal black shrimp was the fact that they were pure. Meaning, they had never been bred with golden bee shrimp to enhance the shrimp coloration. It is common practice for crystal breeders to use golden shrimp to enhance the overall white coloration of their crystal colonies. Therefore, PBL were developed through selective breeding over many generations.
